I'm not sure if there'll be a new Punisher series after the current one wraps up, but if it does, I'm sure you wouldn't be too saddened if Mr. Edmonson didn't stick around.

You said you prefer the Mike Baron and Garth Ennis versions of the Punisher, but what are your thoughts on other writers who've tackled Frank, like Jason Arron, John Ostrander, and recently Greg Rucka, who specializes in street-level characters.Mr. Morbid's House Of Funhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06721085161381688977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345577.post-214720804057175442015-04-29T18:24:46.183-04:002015-04-29T18:24:46.183-04:00Hey, I came here from the A.V. I don't have anything clever to contribute beyond that, but it explained a lot of why the character, and Ennis's revitalization of it, fascinates me. The Legion? I could see that not happening, at least not in their own book.DanielTnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345577.post-66399035767611007442015-04-25T19:40:56.511-04:002015-04-25T19:40:56.511-04:00I know trademark and copyright protection will nev...I know trademark and copyright protection will never allow it to happen, but I think the Punisher is one of a few concepts in comics that are just ready to be retired because no one seems to know what to do with them. Yeah, I know, nobody knew what to do with Animal Man either before Morrison came along and maybe the Punisher is waiting for his Morrison. But how many times have they tried something with the Punisher since Ennis? Did I somehow miss the one that was interesting? I hesitate to declare that anyone has made the Ultimate Statement about Frank Castle, but at the same time I don't see anyone surpassing Baron or Ennis.

Incidentally, two other concepts I think should be retired are the Legion (which is already semi-retired) and the Fantastic Four.DanielTnoreply@blogger.com
